Welcome to 2nd East London Scouts Group

The 2nd East London Scout Group is based on the Isle of Dogs and is currently the largest Scout Group in East London. We are always open to new members and opportunities within our community.

We accept both boys and girls from 4 to 18 years old and at present we have one Beaver Colony, two Cub Packs, two Scout Troops and one Explorer Unit. In addition to the weekly meetings all sections take part in several camps and other activities during the year suitable for the age of the members.

In recent years some of the activities we've taken part in have included sailing, canoeing, camping, archery, climbing, air rifle shooting, first aid courses, building rope bridges, night hikes, problem solving, group challenges and lots of games. We also participate in many community projects.

We are starting a new provision for 4 and 5 years olds called Squirrels to help young people to gain new  skills, friends and have fun.

Boys and girls can join Beaver Scouts at 6 years old and then move to the next section, Cub Scouts, at about 8 years old.

Boys and girls can join Cubs Scouts at 8 years old and then move to the next section, Scouts, at about 10½ years old.

Scouts is our third section in our Group and caters for boys and girls between 10½ years and 14 years of age.

Skills For Life

Each week almost half a million young people enjoy fun, friendship and outdoor adventure. They develop a sense of optimism and strong values as well as the leadership and teamwork skills that are more valuable than ever before.

Our plan for the next five years is simple:

Skills for LIFE!
