Welcome to our Cubs section

This is the third section in our scouting family. Boys and girls can join Cubs Scouts at 8 years old and then move to the next section, Scouts, at about 10½ years old.

Cubs Scouts are easily recognized by their distinctive green sweatshirts and they take part in a wide range of activities designed to be very interesting and challenging such as camping, playing game, exploring the outdoors, adventurous activities like climbing, sailing and archery, meeting people from their local community, experiencing the culture of other countries and keeping themselves and others safe. There are a range of badges available which Cub Scouts can wear on their uniforms to show everyone how well they’re doing.

An important part of Scouting is getting invested - the ceremony where they become part of the 2nd East London group, as well as the worldwide movement of scouts, make their promise, and are given their scarf.

Cubs promise to do their best, to do their duty to God and to the Queen, to help other people and keep the Cub Scout law. Different versions of the promise are available depending on their faith (or absence of one.)

We usually meet on Tuesday between 6 pm and 8 pm and Friday between 6.30 pm and 8.30 pm at George Green's Secondary School (100 Manchester Rd, London E14 3DW). We will advise which session your child can attend based on our availability.
