Welcome to our Scouts section

Scouts is our fourth section in the Scout Group and caters for boys and girls between 10½ years and 14 years of age.  Scouts are easily recognized by their distinctive green shirts and they are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their programme that is far greater, and usually more physical, than anything Beavers, and Cubs do.

Being outdoors is important and half the programme is given over to taking part in both the traditional Scouting skills, such as helping others in the community, mastering survival skills, climbing, abseiling, canoeing, camping, caving, cooking, first aid, map reading as well as the wide range of adventurous activities. The international aspect gives Scouting a special appeal, and many of our scouts travel abroad during their time with us.

“Participation” rather than meeting set standards is our key approach.

For Scouts who want to be recognized for his or her achievements, there are several Challenge Awards and Activity Badges to be earned too.

We usually meet on Wednesdays and Fridays between 7 pm and 9 pm at George Green's Secondary School (100 Manchester Rd, London E14 3DW).
